Emma B. Rosenfeld, 102, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at Waldron Health and Rehab Center.
She was born Aug. 26, 1909, in Shelbyville to Joseph J. Rosenfeld and Elizabeth Heppner.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Louis Rosenfeld; sister, Martha Kneipp; brother, Clement Rosenfeld; sister, Amelia Genco; sister, Celia Rosenfeld; sister, Mary Gasper; brother, Joseph Rosenfeld Jr.; brother, Francis Rosenfeld; and brother, Norbert Rosenfeld.
She worked on an American Indian reservation in South Dakota during the 1930s for Father Sylvester Eisenman before moving back to Shelbyville and opening Emma Grocery Store, which she operated until 1962.
Emma was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, St. Anne's Altar Society and St. Joseph Social Club.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 4218 E. Michigan Road. Rosary service will be at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Vincent de Paul cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
