Virginia Carol Crase, 64, of Fairland died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, in a house fire at her home.

She was born Aug. 30, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Wallace Stevens and Ruby (Dye) Stevens.

Survivors include a daughter, the Rev. Sandra K. (husband, Patrick McKinney) Crase of Banning, Calif.; and a son, Jimmy W. (wife, Barb) Crase of Fairland.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Two special cats also perished in the fire that took Virginia's life.

Virginia graduated from Regina High School in Norwood, Ohio.

She had worked as a bookkeeper at Steven R. Jenkins Co. in Indianapolis since 2005. She had owned and operated the Pizza Plus in Fairland from 1987 to 1991.

She was a member of the Moravian Church. She volunteered at Triton Central schools and with the athletic boosters.

Virginia loved her cats, reading, lighthouses and the ocean, and thoroughly enjoyed her family. Her hobbies were taking care of other people and collecting Precious Moments figurines.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., in Shelbyville.

A celebration of life service ill be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Sandra Crase officiating. Inurnment will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Arlington Memorial Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairland Volunteer Fire Department, Moral Township Volunteer Fire Department or Cats Haven in Indianapolis in care of the funeral home.

I'm so sorry to hear about Ginny, we emailed back and forth many times as I would order things from SRJ and had become email buddies. i will miss her. I will keep your family in my prayers.
