Zenon Becker, 80 of Shelbyville, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at his residence in Shelbyville, Indiana.

Born July 26, 1935 in Vienna, Austria, he was the son of the late Johann Becker and the late Stefanie Ozgowyez  Becker.

He married Johanna Schmitt on November 28,1962 and she preceded him in death April 29, 2011.

Surviving are his daughter Stefanie (Dennis) Gilles of Waldron, son Paul(Cathy) Becker of Grove City, OH, 3 grandchildren, Troy, Jamie and Jared Gilles, sister, Irene Lebherz of Austria.

Mr. Becker was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign War and American Legion Post 70.    He was instrumental in the initial design of the Automobile Cruise Control and weight sensor for passenger airbag deployment.

He actively helped his son-in-law farm.  He enjoyed working with electronics.  He was actively involved with the Boy Scouts and enjoyed working in his garden and lawn.  He was also a Ham Radio operator.  His favorite times were spent visiting with the family, grandkids and friends.

Mr. Becker served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1960.  He was employed at CTS in Elkhart as an engineer for 45 years.

The Rosary will be recited, Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.  Visitation will follow from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 AM on Monday, March 14, 2016  at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Aaron Pfaff officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military rites conducted by local veterans organizations.

Memorial contributions may be given in honor of his late wife, Johanna, to the American Cancer Society, P O Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or in his honor to the American Heart Association. 6500 Techonology Drive, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
