  Thomas A. George, 61, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, May 24, 2019 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. 

  He was born March 5, 1958 in Indianapolis.  He was the son of James E. George and Betty J. (Ficklin) Hankins.

  Tom is survived by his daughters, Cassandra, Brandy, Amber, and Amanda, his son, Thomas, 9 grandchildren, his sisters, Kathy and Rose, his brother, Larry and his friend, Jan Curry.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother.

  Tom served in the U.S. Navy. He was a truck driver for 38 years. 

  Tom was a member of Crossroads Community Church.  His favorite pastimes were fishing and hunting.

   Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Crossroads Community Church, 475 E. Progress Parkway, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

  Funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the church with Pastor Andy Lee officiating.

  Military honors will be conducted by local veterans’ organizations.

  The family sends a special Thanks to Dr. Vieira and his caring staff for all of their love and support.

  Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Association of Shelby County, P. O. Box 844, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

My heart is absolutley breaking. Thomas in just the year I knew him touched my life . He would make special stops in to see me at the hospital and I just saw him a few months back and he always brightened my day . My heart is so heavy after finding this out .
