DONALDSON, Thomas A., age 67 of West Alexandria, OH. died Mon. Jan. 1, 2018 in Dayton.  He was a quiet, sensitive, artistic, banjo playing, woodworker.  He was born on July 19, 1950 in Trenton, New Jersey.  He always considered Steubenville, OH. his hometown because he moved there when he was 12.  After graduating from Steubenville High School he then graduated from Ohio University in 1972 with an Industrial Arts degree.  He taught electronics at Troy City High School for 2 years.  He was a TV repairman for 6 years in Steubenville.  He also worked at the Miamisburg Mound Research Facility for 15 years, then worked at Reynolds and Reynolds for 10 years. He was a member of Middletown Sportmen’s Club, Contemporary Longrifle Assc., Mid-West Tool Collectors Assc., National Muzzle Loading Rifle Assc. And Preble County Art Assc.  He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Earla Donaldson, 3 children, Thomas D. (Jessica) Donaldson, West Alexandria, OH., Elise (Dennis) McElwain, Miamisburg, OH., Daniel (Kristy) Donaldson, Eaton, OH., 4 grandchildren, Brycen and Kaylin Donaldson and David and Emma McElwain, a special cousin, J. Dennis and Susan Johnston, a special nephew, Chris and Debbie Kelly, sister-in-law, Lilly Moore, one nephew, Tony Ellis, 2 nieces, Becky Johnston and Leigh Oldham, 4 great nephews and 3 great nieces.  He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Fred and Ruth Donaldson, brother, Charles and 2 stepsisters, Kay and Joan Donaldson.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.  A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Sat. Jan. 6, 2018 at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Vorhis officiating.  A visitation will be held Sat. from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.  For condolences: www.lindloffzimmerman.com
