COMBS, Ralph, age 79 of Gratis, OH. passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 in Dayton. He was born in West Alexandria, OH. on July 30, 1937 to Otto and Chelcie (Gabbard) Combs. He was a 1955 graduate of Lanier High School and also Patterson Co-Op. Ralph was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of James E. Ryan Post #322 American Legion, and a member of the Germantown Eagles #2292. He had worked for Duriron Company for 33 years and also as custodian for Preble Shawnee for 10 years. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce (Shell) Combs, Gratis, OH., 3 children, Shelley and “Skeeter” Dougherty, Gratis, OH., Tammy Line, West Alexandria, OH., Donnie Combs, Eaton, OH., 6 grandchildren, 4 great granddaughters, brother, Raymond “Tuke” Combs, Rutland, OH., brother-in-law, Bob Worley, and sister-in-law, Sue Combs, both of Gratis, OH., nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, Leon Combs, James Combs, Otto Combs Jr., Don Combs and sisters, Loretta Combs, Thelma Wolfe, Rometta Miller and Zellia Worley. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thurs. July 20, 2017 at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, Gratis, OH. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis, OH.
