HORA, James “Jimmy” W., age 96 of Lanier Township, Farmersville, OH, passed away peacefully at his residence after a short illness surrounded by his loving family. He was born at his parent’s home on Chicken Bristle Road, Jackson Township, Farmersville, OH on August 3, 1920 to the late Eliza Rosa Belle (Goad) and John Adam Hora, Jr. He was a faithful born again Christian. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 half-brothers, Joseph E. Hora and Robert S. Hora, and a granddaughter, Jessica N. Hora. He was a 1938 Farmersville High School graduate with memberships in the National Rifle Association and the Twin Valley Road and Gun Club for many years. Jimmy was a retired farmer. He raised tobacco, strawberries, hogs and a variety of produce and field crops. At one time, being the largest hog producer in Preble County, Ohio. He enjoyed eating homemade ice cream, hunting and commercial fishing in Key Vaca, FL, with his many friends and family. Known for his quick wit and humor. He is survived by his wife Anita Grace (Burdge) Hora after 71 years of marriage, 8 children Bonnie (Tim) Hora Schmidt of Middletown, OH, William “Bill” (Cindy) Hora of New Paris, OH, Robert “Bob” (Susan) Hora of Lewisburg, OH, Beverly (Joe) Babis of Prosper, TX, Judy (Eric) Boshuizen of Broken Arrow, OK, Janie (Rick)Albrecht of Kettering, OH, Flora (Mike) Rectenwald of Tipp City, OH Frankie (Mary) Hora of West Alexandria, OH, and, 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren, and 1 step great-great grandchild. The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton and to Pastor Nick Wielander and his family for traveling from Florida to officiate. Donations may be made in his memory to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, P.O.Box 96105, Washington DC 20090-6105. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 5, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home at 67 West Dayton Street , West Alexandria, Ohio. Burial will be in Germantown Union Cemetery. Wow, what to say! My first memories of Uncle Jimmy was a worker, and loved what he was doing. I loved his wit and almost endless jokes. He loved life and it showed. Many wonderful childhood and adulthood memories of him and the farm. He was an inspiration to me and I told him so in a letter. I thank God that we can look forward to an everlasting life with Jesus and know Uncle Jimmy will be there.

Jimmy was an exceptional person, we met him in the keys where him and Anita would come and spend time fishing and fellowship with friends. The love they have to each other was amazing, all of us could learn a lot from them. He will be truly missed by us and his friend of many years Jack White. See you later Jimmy...

To Anita & family...
We were so very sorry to read about "Pop's", as we called him; passing! Over the past couple of years we came to love his visits to fish tales, with or without bringing fish when he came. Yesterday we celebrated Dad’s life. By the way of modern technology Lauren, Judy and Ian, Erin and Dom joined Joe and me in the town of Prosper, Texas. We share stories, and sweet remembrances. Those memories are held deep within our hearts, they help to soothe us.
We feel the warmth of his love as the sun shines
We feel his loving embrace as the wind wraps around us
We feel his love pouring down on us
We love this feeling! There it is again!
Though there no words to ease the pain, remember that he is in heaven, in Gods loving arms where he is now at peace.
