VIA, David L.Sr, age 77 of Germantown, OH. passed away Tues. Jan. 10, 2017 in Eaton.  He was born in Covington, KY. on Dec. 6, 1939 to Samuel and Gladys (Bailey) Via.  He was a graduate of Gratis High School and had retired from General Motors in 1999 after 29 years.  David was a member of Lighhouse Baptist Church in Gratis.  He loved to golf, ride motorcycles and he loved animals and nature.  He is survived by his loving family, wife of 52 years, Joyce Via, 3 children, David Lee Via Jr., Germantown, OH., Douglas Via (Liza Lewis), Middletown, OH., Jeffrey (Theresa) Via, Gratis, OH., 5 grandchildren, Cameron Via, Collton Via, Ady Via, Bre Via, Kylie Via, and brother, Charlie (Pat) Via, Carlisle, OH.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Samuel Via Jr., Ralph Via and sister, Wanda Via.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Sat. Jan. 14, 2017 at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, Gratis, OH. with Rev. Wayne Pendleton officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis, OH.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00A.M. until time of service at 1:00PM.  Donations may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 7085 Gratis-Jacksonburg Rd., Camden, OH. 45311 or charity of your choice.  For condolences, www.lindloffzimmerman.com

Prayers to all of the Via family! I worked with Dave and his brothers Sam and Ralph many years at GM. We always had a good time, only saw Dave mad of few times, but when I did, I just stood back. Great friend ! RIP
