GARRETT, Mary E., age 93 of West Alexandria, OH. died Sun. Sept. 21, 2014 in Eaton.  She was born in Hamilton, OH. on  Jan. 16, 1921 to Clarence and Louretta (Coldiron) Doan. She was a graduate of Camden High School and also a graduate of Mercy Hospital of Nursing.  She had retired as director of nursing from Woodland Manor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Garrett in 2007.  She was a member of Eaton United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of Preble County Business & Professional Women’s Organization and was a member of the Eaton Red Hatters Club. She is survived by her son, Daniel Garrett, West Alexandria, OH., daughter, Cheryl (Charles) Unger, Eldorado, OH., 4 grandchildren, John Unger, Kent Unger, Katie Garrett, Sarah Friedrich and 7 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also deceased were her parents, daughter, Marilyn Feix, 1979 and brothers, Harold Reynolds, Robert Reynolds, Clarence Doan, Herbert Doan, sister, Katherine Seals, and daughter-in-law, Mary Garrett. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wed. Sept. 24, 2014 at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home in West Alexandria, OH.   Friends may call at the funeral home on Wed. from 1:00P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or Eaton United Methodist Church.

My condolences on Mrs. Garrett's passing. It was my pleasure to serve as her doctor for her last few months. May God be with you as you enter this next phase of your lives.
