HOLLENBAUGH, Ethel Lynn, age 71 of Gratis, OH. died suddenly Sun. June 1, 2014 in Dayton.  She was born in Sherwood, TN. on Aug. 14, 1942 to Willie and Louise (McIntosh) Ashley.  She was a 1960 graduate of Lanier High School.  She was a homemaker and caretaker most of her life.  She was a previous member of Gratis P.T.O., Gratis Homemakers and also a Cub Scout Den Leader.  She was a member of First Brethren Church, Gratis, OH.  She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Daryl Hollenbaugh, 2 daughters, Traci (Rick) Kurtz, Gratis, OH., April (David) Bruns, Sunman, IN., son, Gary (Nancy) Hollenbaugh, Eaton, OH. 6 grandchildren, Matthew Hollenbaugh, Megan Hollenbaugh(Brandon Robertson), Elizabeth (Brian) Pope, Sarah Kurtz, Wyatt Bruns, Harley Bruns, 5 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Eugene Ashley, Columbus, GA., Oran Ashley, Cary, IL., Leonard Ashley, Altus, OK.,  3 sisters, Mollye Baker, and Brenda Rodriguez, both of Dallas,TX., Shirley Morgan, Davenport, IA., numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, James Ashley in 1973 and sister, Barbie Ashley 2014.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thurs. June 5, 2014 at First Brethren Church, Gratis, OH. with Rev. Bob Shannon officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Gratis, OH.  Friends may call at the church on Wed. from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. and one hour prior to the funeral on Thurs. at the church. I am so sorry for your loss. Ethel was my classmate and in our graduating class-Lanier 1960. My favorite memory of Ethel was her laugh. I remember her sparkling eyes. My prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Blessings.
