CAPLINGER, Rev. Robert L., age 80, of Eaton, OH. died Thurs. May 24, 2012 in Richmond.  He was born in Preble County, OH. to William Ray and Roxie Mae (Haas) Caplinger.  He was a graduate of Lanier High School and worked many years at WestVaco Mfg. in Eaton.  He was also a past minister of Gratis Church of the Brethren in Gratis, OH.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1951 to 1955. He was also a member of Ben Franklin  Lodge #719  F.& A.M. of Hamilton. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carrie (Bowling) Caplinger, Eaton, OH.,  his brother, Eugene Caplinger, Oregon, and 2 sisters, Betty Martin and Iona Wynkoop, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, George Roger Caplinger and Ronald Caplinger Funeral services will be held at Gratis Church of the Brethren  at 11:00 A.M. on Wed. May 30, 2012   with   Rev. Shawn Wilges officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis, OH. Friends may call at the Church from 10:00 to 11:00A.M. on Wed.
