James "Junior" Gobin, age 88, of Preston, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran's Hospital in Madison, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 3, 1930 in Scott Twp. Crawford County Wisconsin.  The son of James and Lilly (Willows) Gobin.  He married Arleen  Freymiller on May 25, 1953 at the United Methodist Church in Boscobel. He was a farmer his entire life, and a Korea Conflict Veteran .  He is survived by his wife Arleen  Gobin of Preston. Four daughters: Carolyn Pinto of Baraboo, Barbara (Clint) Spargur of Casper Wy., Cheryl Ellis of Preston, Kathleen Gobin of Afton Wy. One son Edward (Rosemary) Gobin of Prairie du Chien. 15 Grandchildren 13 Great-Grandchildren. One brother Melvin Gobin of Leaf River Ill. One sister Kathryn Steiner of Blue River. A sister in law: Janece  Gobin of Platteville.  He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Leonard, Harold, and Arnold Gobin. Two grandchildren: Dora Lynn Calkin, Jeffrey Gobin. One great grandson Walter Edward  Ready Jr.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 12:00 P.M. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Pastor Jean Bartlett officiating. Burial in the West Fork Cemetery Richland County.  Friends may call on Sunday January 27, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Military Honors will be accorded  by the Daugherty- Larson American Legion Post #446 of Steuben.
