John Duane Miller, of Boscobel, Wis., passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at home. He was born to Raymond D. Miller and Opal M. (Kielley) Miller on December 23, 1941. He married the love of his life, Janis Devine, on September 17, 1966. A dairy farmer for 30 years, John and his wife then operated Noah’s Ark Child Care Center for 10 years until 2009.
John was a hard worker who loved his family, the Green Bay Packers, and ice cream.
John and Janis had four children together: Michael (Amy) Miller of Montfort, Wis.; James Paul Miller (infant) who passed away in 1968; Lynnette (AJ) Gates of Lancaster, Wis.; and Jennifer (Tom) O’Neill of Boscobel, Wis., and were blessed with eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister, Margene (Kenneth) Walstad of Mount Horeb, Wis.
John was preceded in death by his mother, father, and infant son.
The family would like to give special thanks to Fr. Christopher Padilla, Fr. James Kotch, Fr. Peter Auer, Grant County Hospice, and special daughter-in-law, Amy Miller, who carried us though this difficult time – also to everyone who lifted us in prayer.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Boscobel with Fr. Peter Auer, and Fr. Christopher Padilla SJS officiating. Burial will be in the Boscobel Cemetery.

I am so sorry for your loss.
John was truly an example of a kind and honorable man who touched so many lives in a positive way.
20 years later, we often talk of the memories at Noah's Ark. I will always treasure the time Matthew and Sarah spent there and the wonderful and positive influence you both have been to them throughout their lives. He was a wonderful neighbor to have.
His influence and legacy will live on in all the lives he touched.
