Todd P. Krachey, age 52 of Wauzeka, passed away on Saturday March 31, 2018 at Gundersen Medical Center in LaCrosse, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on April 15, 1965 in Prairie du Chien.  The son of Paul and Judy (Atkinson) Krachey. He married Crystal Reiger, the love of his life, on November 1, 1997 in Boscobel.

Todd has owned Krachey’s BP in Boscobel since 2004 with his wife Crystal. They often employed high school students as their first job to let them gain experience in the workforce. Todd was an active member of both Wauzeka and Boscobel communities.  Todd was a member of the Wauzeka School Board. Todd was involved with the Wauzeka Summer Rec. program as a coach and a leader of the organization. You could often find Todd in the gyms or on the football and baseball fields in Wauzeka officiating, running the clocks, or coaching.  Todd also helped with implementing and advancing many programs in the community. He was the fire chief for 18 years in Wauzeka, received Fire Fighter of The Year in 2015, and was president of the Crawford County Fire Fighters Association.  In Boscobel Todd was supportive to the youth in the community. Todd was also on the Chamber of Commerce where he served as president.  Todd often attended and donated too many fundraisers in the area, no matter the cause.  Todd loved to attend Brewers, Badgers, and Packer games with family, if he wasn’t watching them already.  Aside from Todd watching sports, he enjoyed playing fast pitch softball for countless years with many different teams.  His family was very important to him which he cherished until the very end. One of his biggest joys was sharing his love of sports with his sons, which he was able to do while coaching them in their youth.

My most sincere condolences to the family of Todd Krachey. As a coach and an official, I have and will continue to have the ultimate respect for Todd. Whenever I came to coach or officiate, he was always at the W-S gym or field with kind, sincere words and always a "hearty smile". He represents the epitome of a true sportsman. He never wanted my teams to beat Wauzeka because he always has and always will bleed Hornet green...but after the game I was ALWAYS GREETED WITH A SINCERE "Good job Coach, you deserved the victory, or your team demonstrated great effort and character in defeat." With all honesty and sincerity, I will miss Todd so much...my life has been better for knowing him...and we have truly lost a quality man of great character and a warm heart! My thoughts and prayers will remain with Todd and his family.
