Music by The Piano Brothers

John W. McNamee was born to Dr. James and Helene (Zachau) McNamee on January 30, 1951 (it was 52 degrees below zero), in Boscobel, Wisconsin. He died at his home in Boscobel on March 14, 2018.

John graduated from Boscobel High School in 1969, from UW-Madison in 1974, and from Hamline University Law School in 1979. John and Sandra Drobnick married on August 20, 1983. John is survived by Sandy; brothers, Peter (Kathy) and Paul; sisters, Maura and Lisa (Phil); Cato the cat; nieces and nephews; and a lot of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Tim and Patrick.

John practiced law for 37 years, including more than 35 years as Boscobel City Attorney. Mac loved to play golf, cheer on the Badgers and the Packers, join friends for Jeopardy at the Hotel, listen to music LOUD, read fiction, and feast on the Unit's fine food.

At John's request, there will be no funeral service. His family and friends will celebrate John's life Saturday, March 24th, from 1-5 p.m., at the Hickory Grove Country Club.

John, 'music we heard with you was more than music, and bread we broke with you was more than bread.'

My deepest condolences to the McNamee family and to all of the people who loved John. I am grateful I knew him a little.
Although neither of us ever needed the kidney we accused ourselves of wanting, I suspect we needed each other nevertheless. Requiescat in patrem.

I grew up with the McNamee family, my parents were friends of Doc and Helene. I went to school with Peter. I have a fond memory of riding a red tractor at Peter's birthday party across from Immaculate Conception. While John was friends with Tom Craney, I felt I knew John via the Boscobel Dial. It was sad to read of his passing. Sending condolences from a long time family friend.
