Music by The Piano Brothers

LaVon Bryan Reynolds, 86, of Boscobel, Wisconsin, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 in the comfort of his home.
LaVon was born May 25, 1931 in Boscobel, Wisconsin to Kemeth and Agnes (Turner) Reynolds.  He graduated from Boscobel High School in 1949.  On August 3, 1954, he married Judy Ann Smith at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boscobel, Wisconsin.
LaVon enlisted in the U.S. Naval Forces in 1950 and served 4 years in the Korean War aboard the USS Boxer.  After his military service, he worked for Reynolds Brothers and Herb Turner Construction.  In 1957, he started his own business, Lavon Reynolds Construction, which became Boscobel Excavating, Incorporated, and occupied much of his time up until his construction accident in 2003.
From his early start as a paperboy, to becoming an Eagle Scout and eventually a Boy Scout Leader, he always taught integrity and a strong work ethic.  He was an officer on the Church Council for St. John’s Lutheran Church for many years and served on the School Board from 1973 to 1982. Following his son’s death in 1976, he was instrumental in designing and building what is now the Steve “Sparky” Reynolds track.
Prior to his accident, LaVon enjoyed running and was very competitive in whatever the race.  His time at the lake was always special, especially when with family and friends.  He loved watching sports particularly when it involved his children and grandchildren. In 2013, LaVon was named Boscobel’s Citizen of the Year with his wife Judy, an honor he truly cherished.
LaVon is survived by his wife Judy of 63 years, son Mike (Katie) Reynolds of Boscobel, daughter Corby (Nick) Preus of Decorah, Iowa, son Mark (Julie) Reynolds of Thornton, Colorado, daughter Deborah (Greg) Davis of Boscobel and special son Rex (Rani) Connely of Deerfield, Wisconsin; grandchildren Zachary (Stacy) Reynolds, Elizabeth Reynolds, Ezekiel (Alexa) Reynolds, Nate (Maria) Preus, Anna Preus, Tanner (Lexi) Naylor, Abby Reynolds, Lilly Reynolds, Shelby Davis, Rachel Davis, Gabe Davis, Cera Connely, Sadie Connely and James Connely; great-grandchildren Grady, Brooklyn and Grace; many godchildren; brother Greg (Jill) Reynolds and sisters Carol Reynolds, Cindy Randall and Kim (Shelly Brudnicki) Reynolds; sisters-in-law Gayle Anderson, Carole (Gary) Young and Rita Knoble.
He is preceded in death by his parents Kemeth and Agnes, a son Steve, brothers Gary Reynolds, Rodney Reynolds, Frank Beattie and sister Connie Reynolds.
A celebration of life service will be held Friday, January 12, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 208 Mary Street, Boscobel, WI 53805  at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Charles Koester officiating.   Friends and family may call from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday at the church or post a message at www.kendallfuneralservice.com. Military honors will be accorded by Blake Semrad American Legion Post 134 and the Gilbertson-Pitzer-Radley VFW Post 10393 both in Boscobel.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Grant County Hospice, Boscobel Rescue Squad or the Boscobel Fire Department.
A special thank you to the Grant County Hospice for their loving care and support.  Also thank you to the Kendall Funeral Home for all of the arrangements.

Judy and Family, Very saddened to hear of LaVon's passing, a beautiful man! Lavon, and you Judy, were dearly loved by my Mom and Dad. Such terrific examples each of you have always been to so many of us.

We planned on being with you this day but the weather prevents us from traveling the 100 plus miles. We are still rehabbing from our near demise last June. We have a long ways to go but are fighting back each day. Our plan is to visit you when time and conditions permit our travel. Love to You and Yours, Dave and Norma Foster
