John M. Straka, age 83 of rural Wauzeka, passed away on Wednesday March 8, 2017 as a result of a farm accident.  He was born on November 18, 1933 in Wauzeka Township Crawford County Wisconsin.  The son of Edward and Mary (Kelly) Straka.  He married Donna Birkett  on June 13, 1987  in Hazel Green Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on November 13, 2011.   John was a Army Veteran, he also worked at John Deere in Dubuque Iowa, for​ many​ years.  He is survived by a daughter Kori Kruser of Darlington Wisconsin. Honorary Son John DuCharme of Wauzeka. Three Step sons: John (Dee Dee) Fields of Benton, Jack (Missy) Fields of West Harris Ind., Tim (Becky) Fields of Dickeyville Wi., Best Buddies and Grandsons Michael and Jacob Kruser both of Darlington,  9 other grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Three Sisters: Joanne Fl​ones​ of Elgin Ill., Dorothy Kastel of​ Flower Mound​ Texas, Darlene Oberhauser of Mineral Point​, and many ​ Nieces and Nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Francis and Eddie Straka.  Two Sisters: Liz Johnson, Mary Ellen Lawver.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday March 13, 2017 at 11:00 A.m. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel.  Pastor Stan Pegram officiating.  Burial in the Wauzeka Cemetery.  Friends may call on Sunday March 12, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel and also on Monday from10:00 A.M. until the time of service .  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family, and the family will distribute to John's special organizations.  Military honors will be accorded by the Seeley- Onstine American Legion  Post #458 of Wauzeka.  Online condolences can be sent to www.kendallfuneralservice.com
