John M. "Jack" Kinney, age 86 of Blue River, passed away on Monday January 2, 2017 at Golden Living Center in Muscoda. He was born on April 27, 1930 in Richwood Township Richland County Wisconsin. The son of John and Marguerite (Clancy) Kinney. He married Sally James on July 12, 1952 at St. Phillips Catholic Church in Rolling Ground. Jack farmed all of his life. He was a Korean Veteran. He is survived by his wife Sally Kinney of Blue River. A daughter Jo Ellen (Philip) Knoble of Oklahoma City Oklahoma. A granddaughter Kristin (Sarah) Swanson of Minneapolis. A great-granddaughter Marigold Skye Swanson of Minneapolis. Four brothers Paul (Elaine) Kinney of Blue River Leo (Phyllis) Kinney of Winneconne Wi., Kyrie (Jane) Kinney of Blue River, Thomas Kinney of Muscoda. Four sisters Theresa O'Conner of Waunakee, Mary Knothe of Richland Center, Irene Joyce of Richland Center, Kathleen (Michael) Sorge of Prairie du Sac. A sister in Law Janet Kinney of Blue River, also by several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, along with a brother Jerome "Jerry" Kinney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday January 7, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Boscobel. Father Garrett Kau and Monsignor Michael Gorman co-celebrants . Burial in the Blue River Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday January 6, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Immaculate Conception School, with a Knights of Columbus rosary at 8:00 P.M. Friends may also call on Saturday January 7, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church gathering hall. Military honors will be accorded by the Robert R. Shattuck American Legion Post # 443 of Blue River. In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to the Blue River Fire department and Blue River Rescue Squad. The Kendall Funeral Service in Boscobel is assisting the family.
