Music by The Piano Brothers

David J. Knoble, age 48, of Reedsburg, WI, chose to leave this world of pain on
Wednesday, December 30, 2015.  He was born in Boscobel, WI on March 8, 1967 to Darold and Lois (Fischer) Knoble.  Dave graduated from Boscobel High School with the class of 1985.  He went on to receive his teaching degree in music education from UW LaCrosse in 1990 and began his teaching career.  He later received his Master's Degree in education with a music emphasis from UW Platteville.

Dave moved to Reedsburg in 1992 and began teaching middle school vocal music there.  He remained there until 2004, while also operating a studio out of his home teaching private piano and voice     lessons.  He had a tremendous talent and brought out the best in the hundreds of students that he worked with over the years.

Following his teaching career, he tried several various vocations before settling on establishing himself as a successful insurance agent and investment broker.  He had many clients who relied on him to find the very best coverage and investment options for them and was always available to help them in any way he could.

Dave's talent and love for music and desire to share that with others was ever present.  He worked with the Reedsburg Players to do various musicals and directed the community choir on several occasions to perform the Messiah at Christmas time.  He played and sang for innumerable weddings and funerals in the community, as well as directing the senior choir and bell choir at St. John Lutheran Church.  He later went on to become the Director of Music Ministries at the church, and reopened his studio for private piano and voice lessons.

Dave is survived by his parents,  Darold and Lois of Boscobel; his sister, Laura (Hans) Steele and nephew, Parker, also of Boscobel.  Dave was part of so many Reedsburg families too numerous to mention, and will be sorely missed by all of them, including his church family at St. John.       (Memorial services are planned for Sunday, January 17 in Reedsburg and Saturday, January 23 in Boscobel.)
Dave is gone but his music and laughter will continue to live in our hearts forever.  We miss you!

Memorial services will be held on Saturday January 23, 2016 at 12:00 (Noon) at St. John's Lutheran Church in Boscobel. Pastor Charles Koester and Pastor Dominic Guido officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Boscobel Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday January 23, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at St. John's Lutheran Church in Boscobel.  In lieu of flowers memorials to be given to St. John's Lutheran Church  in Boscobel.  The Kendall Funeral Service in Boscobel is assisting the family. David was so greatly gifted musically and he was always so generous in sharing his gifts with all of us at St. John Lutheran. I had the privilege of playing handbells under his direction for several years. He was demanding, but no more of us than of himself as he sought the best performance possible as our offering to worship. We will miss him so much. Thanking God for the years that we shared. David's entire family has been, and will continue to be, in our prayers. God bless his memory.

Our deepest sympathy to David's family. His life has intersected our family in many ways. He was a wonderful vocal teacher to our youngest child in middle school and played the organ for her older sister's wedding. Dave was an inspired choral director for the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church Senior Choir (of which I am a member). We appreciated his expertise in helping us navigate the financial investment challenges posed by planning for retirement. He made a difference in our family's life and will be deeply missed.

My deepest sympathy for your loss. At Steven's funeral we sang a hymn with the words: "We Remember, We Celebrate, We Believe." These words have been stenciled on the wall in our home by my daughter Erin. Please remember David's gift for music, celebrate his life and believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Rest in Peace David.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I will never forget the kindness that Dave showed helping with the music for my sister's funeral. He was not incredibly close to my family, but still went out of his way to help us at such a very difficult time. His kindness will never be forgotten.

My sincere regrets in the tragic loss of our David. I knew him to be funny, kind, hardworking, and honorable. I will miss that beautiful smile of his. He always seemed to have one to share with the quilters on his way to the music room or the kitchen. Thank you David for all you gave to so many.

Our Sincerest Sympathy at this time. I(we) knew David as a kind, caring, enthusiastic and knowledgeable music/choral instructor/teacher. As the Principal at Seneca(Wisconsin) High School. our school district was very fortunate to have had the chance to hire him, for his first teaching position. He was destined to go on to another, larger school district. He will be missed - -

My dearest David. My heart broke when I heard you were no longer with us. One of my very best friends, I miss you so much already. Just your voice would make me smile when I was down. My memories when we were just little kids fighting over toys. Later to be together all the time in high school in band and choir and supporting each other by cheering each other on in everything we did. Your laughter, goofiness, and silly jokes are forged into my memory. Amy, you and I hanging out at the Knoble, Slaman or Martin house, eating everything in sight and watching TV till curfew. Memories of laying with Sandy on her stinky dog bean bag, snoozing off only to be awakened by Amy tickling you till you turned red. Sock hops, car drives, our date before I went off to college....this is what I will always cherish.

Laura, I am truly sorry for your loss. He loved you so much and adored his nephew. Mom and Dad, you raised an amazingly kindhearted, generous, giving, cheritable, compassionate, spiritual, musically talented man. I am so proud to call him my best guy friend and to be apart of the great memories we all are so fortunate to have shared with him.
