Robert Glen Knowles went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, September 20, 2015.  He was born in Chicago, IL, to Gilbert and Sue Knowles on October 28, 1922.  Bob served in the United States Army during WWII. He graduated from the University of Illinois, and worked as an electrical engineer for Barber-Colman Co. in Rockford, IL, for 38 years before retiring to Woodman, WI.  He was married to Geraldine Johnson on July 1, 1945, and they celebrated 70 years of marriage this past July.



Bob came to faith in Jesus Christ while volunteering to take young teens, including his own two sons, to church youth activities.  The youth pastor was instrumental in bringing Bob to faith in Christ.  Bob taught a jr. hi. boys Sunday School class for several years at Loves Park Evangelical Free Church in Rockford, IL, where they were members for many years.  He loved doing different activities with his family and taking his family on trips out west.  Bob and Geraldine were members of Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Fennimore, WI, for many years after moving to Woodman.




Bob is survived by his wife, Geraldine; two sons, Mark (Debbie) Knowles, of Woodman, WI, and Craig (Pam) Knowles, of Townsend, Montana.  Five grandchildren: Jonathan (Cherryl) Knowles, Julie Knowles, Jacob (Malena) Knowles, all of the Boscobel area; Brianna (Bryan) Zipperian, and Ryan Knowles, all of Montana, and special "adopted" son, Kim Hyo In, of Seuol, South Korea.  Five Great-grandchildren: Andrew, Treena, Sarah, Erin, and Jonah Knowles; and nieces, Nola LaBrie and Lois Shepler of Arizona. Diane Serkowich and Judi Wilderson both of Illinois. A nephew Dan Johnson of Illinois




A graveside service is planned for Wednesday September 23, 2015 at  10:30 a.m. at the H​omer ​​ Cemetery on ​County T  rural Boscobel ​.  Kendall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.  The family wishes to thank Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Fennimore, WI, whose staff was superbly loving and caring of Bob and his family during his stay there.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be sent to Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Fennimore, WI.  To God be the Glory, great things HE has done!
