Ruth Alma Wayne Was born on October 7 1921 at her parent's farm in Marietta Valley outside of Boscobel. She was the seventh of ten children born to Joseph and Estella (Cooley) Wayne . She remained on the farm until both parents had passed away and then moved to Boscobel with her brother Bob. She worked as a waitress for many years and retired from the Waltz Inn.  She was loved by many of the regulars and the customers and she thought  of many of them as her family. After retirement, Ruth spent many hours doing the things she loved.  She loved crosswords, watching golf, traveling, clipping recipes and keeping up with her large extended family.
Ruth was thought of as the keeper of the family history. She kept track of all the births, deaths, marriages on various papers we would find throughout the house. Her favorite times were at Christmas when all the cards would come with new pictures to put up in her front room. She enjoyed those pictures all year until  the new pictures came the next Christmas.  Two years ago  Ruth moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Fennimore, Wisconsin.  There she had "Her Girls" who took care of her so wonderfully.  She kept her great sense of humor there and no one ever knew what se would say next. She enjoyed visits from family and friends there and she will be missed by many.  Ruth was truly a good person. She always put family first and that was the most important thing to her.
Ruth was preceded in death by all of her nine siblings. She leaves many family members and friends here and all across the country.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday October 20 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Pastor Stan Pegram Officiating. Burial in the Boscobel Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
