Donna Sanders (Staskal) passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, 3/31/13, at Rest Haven.  She had suffered from a progressive, degenerative disease, PSP, but now she is at peace joining her husband, Lyle, in heaven.
She was born on 2-10-42 to Mildred (Poller) Staskal and Robert Staskal.

On January 13, 1962 Donna married the love of her life, Lyle Sanders.  They resided in Boscobel where Donna became a beautician, following in her mother’s footsteps.  She worked alongside her mother for many years at the Shady Nook beauty shop.  In addition to her career as a beautician, Donna was an active member in her Catholic Church; doing readings, lay ministry, teaching and directing the Catechism program for many years. Her faith was her foundation.

Donna enjoyed an abundant and joyful life.  She had a heart of gold, doing anything for anyone.  Donna was a very giving person, always putting the needs of others before her own. Family was the essence of life to Donna. She instilled this value onto her own children and they are so thankful for that. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Donna enjoyed watching all their activities and praised all their accomplishments. Her extracurricular activities included social gatherings with the ladies and gambling on the boat. Everyone that knew Donna was touched by her grace, courage and humility.

Surviving are her four children, Cindy Sanders-Schenck (Terry ), Sheila Adams (Jamie), Sheryl Hamilton (Scott), and Scott Sanders (Kelly Luskey); six grandchildren Benjamin & Adam Schenck, Heather & Joshua Adams, Brianna & Alexis Hamilton, and Aaron & Jonas Luskey Sanders.  She is also survived by her sister Gloria Boersma (Frans) and two brothers Jim Staskal (Kay) & Gerald Staskal (Barbara) and two very special nieces, Meghan Staskal-Bradt and Rene Staskal.

First she was my baby sitter (at the Whitish home) and then my beautician. My high school proms were made extra special by her creative talent. She was a lovely person and always full of smiles. My sympathy to her family and all who loved her.
