My condolences to the Family.

Mrs. Ritchie was my 1st and 2nd grade teacher. I can say without reservation that she was one of the most influential people in my life and a wonderful teacher. She taught me to read and to write, to love to learn and to love school, even though I was very young. I can remember her helping me with my awful penmanship in cursive to this day. It is said that all you really need to know in life, you learn at a very early age. That may be true because she really taught me if I worked hard and studied, I had potential to go places. I hope I haven't let her down.
I moved away from Boscobel but I saw her once on the 4th of July at the park and talked with her. I didn't expect her to remember me, she was well along in years, but she did and called my by the name when I went by in grade school, Mickey. That meant so much to me.
It is funny what you remember as you get older, but I remember Mrs. Rtichie as a caring, wonderful person and and someone who, whether she knew it or not, really changed my life.
