What a wonderful gentle man. My husband worked with George at MG&E for many years. George admonished Tippy once for not saving enough. . . he said you always have to "pay yourself first". That was a great lesson that now in retirement I was greatful to learn. He sat down and read a children''''''''s book to one of our daughters when he came to visit once. She never forgot that. Tippy has been gone for 14 years but I can still see them both in the backyard sharing a joke and a great laugh. They shared many "liver" dinners on the night shift at MG&E as well. I am now remarried and live at Apple Canyon Lake, IL. I always think of your Mom & Dad when I drive up along the Mississippi to visit that daughter he read to who now lives in Rushford. MN. Long ago stories that still live in our hearts and minds. Bless you and your family. Sandra Nelson-Wilke

I worked with George at MGE for six years starting in 1979. Some of our times together are still memories I cherish today. Teacher to many, soft spoken, quick with a kind word, the sharing of railroad stories and even the listening of train whistles on an old cassestte tape machine are but a few of my memories. A good man! May God''s blesssing be upon your family.

I so much wish I could be there for the service. I have so many cherished memories of your Dad, and your Mom. Thank you for sharing your parents with me, too! I was thinking just the other day of going to the cabin in Woodman, bouncing along in the red truck, us girls and your Dad, with a dog at our feet, nose to the air vent - are we there yet?! Chips Ahoy and lemonade, fishing with cane poles, hiking the hills - it was all an adventure with your Dad! Running up the basement stairs (who won?), "the Shadow knows - bwahhahha", the funny songs and sayings "oh I had a little chicken but it wouldn't lay an egg..." I'm blessed to have had such a wonderful childhood, and it is because of people like your Dad - truly the best this world has to offer. Many blessings and much kindness and love, Chris

I lived across the street from George for 7 years. George was a great friend and neighbor. We shared many conversations on farming and life events such as having kids and growing a family. My family was very fortunate to meet George and become friends. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. God Bless.
