Richard "Dick" L. Sander, age 70 of Wauzeka, passed away on Monday January 30, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 17, 1941 in Marietta Township Crawford County Wisconsin.  The son of Fredrick and Dorothy (Hudson) Sander. He married Phyllis Slade on September 15 1963 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wauzeka. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Sander of Wauzeka. Three daughters; Dawn (Charlie) Tiffany of Arkansaw Wisconsin, Danielle Sander-Varney of Muscoda, Stacy (Galeon) Eitsert of Gays Mills. One son Todd (Deanna) Sander of Wauzeka. 9 grandchildren. Seven Sisters; Margaret Brandes of Boscobel, Wilma (Carl) Rounds of Boscobel,Lena Tainter of Gays Mills, Irene Cudney of Beloit, Alma Schleicher of Cassville, Mary (Francis) "Jinx" Walters of Wauzeka, Emily (Jim)Jeglum of Reeseville. Four brothers William (Ardith) Sander of Boscobel, John Sander of LaCrosse, Donald (Theresa) Sander of Boscobel, James Sander of Richland Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Jay Strand Jr..
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday February 4, 2012 at 2:30 P.M. at Century Hall in Wauzeka. Pastor Joel Oines officiating. Private family burial in  the Wauzeka Cemetery.Friends may call on Saturday February 4, 2012  from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Century Hall in Wauzeka. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to a local community service organization  in Dick's name.  The Kendall Funeral Service in Boscobel is assisting the family.  On line condolence can be sent to www.kendallfuneralservice.com  Dick lived his entire life on the family farm in the Kickapoo Valley between Wauzeka and Steuben.  His love of the land was a big part of who he was.  He found great pleasure in raising beef cattle and being a good steward of his land.  His generosities in sharing his land lead to many lifelong friendships with turkey hunters and Rendezvousers.  His greatest joy however came from being grandpa "Dick" to his nine grandchildren.
