PROVIDENCE
Frances Southard Wells, 95, of Providence, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday morning, November 3, 2019 at the Brian Center of Yanceyville. Born in Davidson County, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Oscar Southard and Lena Brooks Cook Southard. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of over 45 years William Walker Wells, Jr.; son, William “Billy” Walker Wells, III; four brothers, Rufus “Dinky” Southard, William “Bill” Southard, Jack Southard and Daniel Southard; one sister, Hilda Southard; and son in-law Joseph Thomas Daniel.
Ms. Wells was a homemaker who loved to sew, a loving mother and grandmother and a devout Christian. She was a member of Park Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Frances is survived by one daughter, Peggy Wells Daniel of Providence; one son, David Jackson Wells and wife Brenda of Yanceyville; daughter in-law June Jeffress Wells of Pelham; sister in-law Hallie Southard of Reidsville; four grandchildren, Cheryl Daniel of Providence, Christopher Wells of Elon, Jamie Wells of Providence, and William Irvin Wells of St. Paul, Alaska; and one great grandchild, Lathan Wells of Elon.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Park Springs Pentecostal and Holiness Church by Rev. Mark Moore. Interment will follow at Moons Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Park Springs Pentecostal and Holiness Church.
