I remember meeting Joe when I was a young teacher coming from IL over 30 years ago....he taught me so much, not just about teaching and relating to kids, but about life. He always had the time to talk (no matter how busy he was at school) and always with a smile. His kindness and gentle manner should be an example for all people in this world. In all of these years in Lee County, I have never heard an unkind word about Joe; everyone loved him, and I will never forget him. My condolences to Joe II and the entire family. The world was a better place with Joe in it, and I'm glad he will have everlasting life and adorn heaven with his presence.

On behalf of myself, Tammy, and Tariq Thomas, we want to express our sincere condolences to the family of Mr. Williams.  Although we were men, he is ALWAYS Mr. Williams to me, known as a gentle but tough, fair but time-tested, and community-minded man of grace and dignity.

As our family experienced Mr. and Mrs. Williams's kindly touch while our son attended the Sunshine Academy's last two years, we will always take away the knowledge that our child was touched by such a beautiful couple.

Mr. Williams.....you WILL be missed!!

Also, as the President of the Nu Mu Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., I present a message of sympathy from our brotherhood.

Todd, Tammy, and Tariq Thomas (Sunshine Academy Class of 2002-03)

I worked with Mr. Williams at Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle School. He was a very nice man and I was always thankful to him for the help he was able to give me with students over the years. I know he will be missed very much by all his family and friends. I offer my most sincere condolences.
