The Susquehanna Trailers Hiking Club would like to express our sympathy to John's family on his passing. He was a good friend and was interesting to talk too as we walked. He especially enjoyed our history hikes where he often carried his camcorder so he could capture any surviving relics that we would discover. Even after he couldn't walk with us any longer, because of health problems, he still kept in touch. Rest in Peace, John.

I am sorry to hear of John's passing. He and I were boyhood friends and neighbors on the Outlet Rd in Lehman. We played baseball, made mud pies and at times John and George would invite me and my buddy Dale Hoover into their grandmas house to watch Hopalong Cassidy on a very snowy tv set. They were the first in the neighborhood to have the new contraption in the early 1950s, I remember the house always had a wonderful smell of his grandma Galleti's tomato sauce cooking on a big black coal stove in the kitchen. On the wall was picture of his Uncle Sammy who was killed near Mounte Casino in Italy during WWII. All John's classmates remember him and offer our condolences to the family. Good Bye friend -- Jerry Shilanski

I am a neighbor of John's.  I have been waiving to John as I passed him walking or working in his yard for about 16 years.  Although we never really met or officially became friends, the simple waiving, smiles, and knowing we had a nice neighbor was a comfort.

As I read John's obituary, I found that he had a son, Doug.  I attended Lake Lehman elementary and middle school in the 70's.  I had a friend named Doug Stolarick.  This brought back some good memories.  If this is my old buddy, I truly hope you are comforted at this time.  May God be with you.
