Dear Bekanich Family,

My brother is Kenny Jones and I know that he is very sad about this news. He is holding Alec and you all in thought and prayer.

When our mom passed, this poem came to my attention. Hope it brings you comfort.

Warm wishes,
Walker Jones

On The Death Of The Beloved
— John O’Donohue

Though we need to weep your loss,
You dwell in that safe place in our hearts,
Where no storm or night or pain can reach you.

Your love was like the dawn
Brightening over our lives
Awakening beneath the dark
A further adventure of color.

The sound of your voice
Found for us
A new music
That brightened everything.

We look towards each other no longer
From the old distance of our names;
Now you dwell inside the rhythm of breath,
As close to us as we are to ourselves.

Though we cannot see you with outward eyes,
We know our soul’s gaze is upon your face,
Smiling back at us from within everything
To which we bring our best refinement.

Let us not look for you only in memory,
Where we would grow lonely without you.

You would want us to find you in presence,
Beside us when beauty brightens,
When kindness glows
And music echoes eternal tones.

When orchids brighten the earth,
Darkest winter has turned to spring;
May this dark grief flower with hope
In every heart that loves you.

May you continue to inspire us:
To enter each day with a generous heart.

To serve the call of courage and love

Until we see your beautiful face again

In that land where there is no more separation,

Where all tears will be wiped from our mind,

And where we will never lose you again.

Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower,
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind,
In the primal sympathy
Which having been must ever be,
In the soothing thoughts that spring
Out of human suffering,
In the faith that looks through death.

We send our love to the family in this difficult time and always. I met Al a very long time ago and lived with him for a short period of time. What I received from Al was laughter and joy. He was my Manny and I was his Hoppy! I will meet you on the other side brother. RIP

My sincere condolences to all of Alec's family and friends. Ran into him at pretty much every concert I went to over the past five years or so. Will miss seeing his smiling face.

Fare You Well, Alec.

River gonna take me, sing me sweet and sleepy
Sing me sweet and sleepy all the way back home
It's a far gone lullaby sung many years ago
Mama, Mama, many worlds I've come since I first left home

Going home, going home
By the waterside I will rest my bones
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
To rock my soul

I know you are with our Lord, Jesus and all the ones who have gone before us. I am mourning your loss to our family, as you were so good to your mom. You are very missed.
Will see you in heaven one day.
John 11:25-26
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
