Richard E. Heiss, 47, of Exeter, passed away on Thursday June 28, 2018 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Plains Twp. due to complications of Becker Muscular Dystrophy.


Born in Belleville, N.J., he was the son of Richard A. Heiss and Elaine R. Harrigan.

He was a graduate of Essex County Vocational Technical School.  

Surviving are his parents Elaine R. (Harrigan) Heiss, Richard A. Heiss and his fiancé, Janice Conti.

Also, his Brother, Sean Joseph Heiss, and sister, Lois C. Heiss-Newberry, of Irvington N.J., along with numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be privately held.

Since Richie was a little boy he was always the sweetest little child ,he had the most beautiful smile the curly blonde hair and I want to always remember him that way ,so sorry he had to suffer so Ipray now he is running with the Angels and smiling and laughing!!!! Love and hugs Aunt Rosemary

Richie you are a kind soul and will be dearly missed. You had more courage than most. You fought a battle everyday and stayed that kind gentle soul. I wish MD did not exist. I wish you were still here and were able to celebrate your birthday. I know people are sad now but hopefully as time passes the memory of your big beautiful smile will bring a sense of joy for knowing you. Love you!

I will miss Richie forever. I do take a little comfort in thinking that if there is something that comes after this life, then Richie and my Mother are hugging, right now.
