Joseph R. Kleback, 94, of Exeter, passed away on Thursday December 7, 2017 at the Regional Hospital, Scranton.

Born in Wyoming, he was the son of the late George and Mary Warganian Kleback.

Mr. Kleback was a member of St. Barbara Parish at St. Cecilia's Church, Exeter and a participant in its choir.

He was a graduate of Wyoming High School and immediately after graduation enlisted in the U. S. Navy. He served his country during World War II serving on the PCE (R) 853 in the South Pacific rescuing over 2,000 servicemen.After the war he served on the LST-512 an exhibition ship traveling around the world.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #833,  the Cosmopolitan Club, Exeter and the Wyoming Hose Co. # 2..

Preceding him in death were his wife the former Evelyn M. Mislan Kleback, and sons Stephen J. and Mark J., brothers and sisters, George Kleback, Eleanor Kleback, Marion Kratzer ,John and Thomas Kleback.

Surviving are his son Joseph and his wife Daria Kleback, Exeter, and a daughter Carol and her husband Christopher Weale, Warminster, Pa.

Daughter in law Donna Kleback, West Wyoming  and grandchildren, Angela and Dustin Clarke , Joseph and Erin Kleback , Mark Kleback ,Maria Kleback , Lindsay Weale and Meghan Weale and numerous nieces and nephews.

Military funeral services accorded by the AMVETS Honor Guard will be conducted on Monday at 9:00am from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.

A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 9:30am in St. Cecilia's Church ( St. Barbara Parish), Exeter, with the Rev. Michael Finn, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment will be in St. John Slovak Cemetery, Schooley St., Exeter.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 5pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
