Alfonse R. Palaima, 69, of Hughestown, passed away unexpectedly on Friday August 18, 2017 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, PlaIns Twp.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Alfonse and Eva Scripkunas Palaima.

He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston and was a graduate of Exeter High School Class of 1966.

Alfonse and his wife are the owners and proprietors of Magikal Garden, Exeter since 1974. Prior to that he had worked at the former U.S. Plywood, West Pittston.

He was also a member and past president  of the Exeter Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by his infant twin sons.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, the former Sharleen Hopkins and sons Alfonse and Richard, both of Los Angeles, CA.
Also surviving is a brother Joseph J. Palaima, Exeter.

The family would like to thank Dr. Charles Manganiello for being such a caring doctor to Alfonse for the past 31 years.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 10:30am from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.

Interment will follow in the West Pittston Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
