John E. Golecki II, 37, of Dallas, PA died June 13, 2017 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 19, 1979, John is the son of John E. Golecki, of West Pittston; and Mary and Alfonso Rodriguez, MD, of Dallas.

John graduated from Wyoming Area High School in 1998; and from the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, NY in 2001.

In addition to his parents, John is survived by his sisters Kathryn and Sarah, and nephew Mason; daughters Grace, Abigail, Olivia, and Juliana; step sisters Kasandra and Ariana, and step brother Alfonso; aunts and uncles Michael and Debra Mercincavage, Carl Mercincavage and Elizabeth Starr, Karen Mercincavage, and Carol Golecki; cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents Anthony Albert and Kathryn Eitel Mercincavage, and Harold and Edwarda Comstock Golecki.

As a child, John played baseball on Labarre's team with the West Pittston Little League. Thank you, Eddie Martin and Jim Manganiello.
He loved Rams football. Thank you, Roy Speece and Randy Spencer.
He loved camping and being a Boy Scout. Thank you, Ron Pollard.
The Wyoming Area Warriors were his life. Thank you, Paul Marranca and Fred Marianacci.
John embraced his career in the culinary arts with the same heart that showed when he played football. He cooked at Congress Hall, The Virginian, Caesar's, Little Italy in Wildwood, but his most recent venture was The Olde House Cafe, in Dallas, which he loved.
His daughters were the lights of his life. His favorite football team was the Green Bay Packers, as were the New York Yankees baseball team. He also loved the Philadelphia Mummers, and his favorite places were Wildwood and Cape May, New Jersey.
Thank you, Kamala, for always being there; and Lynda, his second mom. He will be forever missed.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to First Presbyterian Church, of West Pittston, Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, in Dallas, or the B'nai B'rith, Kingston Homeless Fund.

Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 8:30am until 10:30am at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.

Services will begin at 11am at the funeral home with the Rev. James Thyren, pastor of the First United Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
