Michael Edward Swantek, 66, of Pittston, passed away at home with his family by his side on June 12th 2017, after a brave battle with cancer.

Born on February 24th, 1951 in Queens, New York, he was the son of the late Edward M. and Theresa Daleo Swantek.

Michael was employed at Rodano’s in Wilkes-Barre for 20 + years.  He enjoyed watching his favorite football team, The New York Giants, and recently visited the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  He received a message of endearment from his favorite player Michael Strahan. He also enjoyed collecting stamps, coins, and watching his favorite actor John Wayne.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, the former Patricia Weber, and his children, Edward Swantek of Marlborough, MA, Crystal Swantek of Exeter, Stephanie Rodzinak and her husband Brian of Plains, Dustin Swantek and his wife Savannah of Plains, and Anthony Swantek of Ashley.
He is also survived by his grandchildren; Dominic, Anthony Jr, Samantha, Emily, Jeremy, and Sophia.

He is also survived by his sister, Emmie Esposito of Queens, NY as well as by his brother, Charles Swantek and his wife Karen of Manalapan, NJ and his five nieces: Amanda, Theresa, Victoria, Cali, and Alexa Swantek of Manalapan, NJ.  

Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 9:00am until 11:00am at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00am at the funeral home with the Rev. John Major, pastor of the Trinity Episcopal Church, West Pittston.

Very Sorry to read about my Cousin Michael Swantek Passing away. I didnt know that I had a relation so close in the area. My Mother Helen Swantek Kobuta was Michael's father Edward 's Sister. I use to visit with my family every summer to see Michael and Charles and his Mom and Dad. I wanted to attend the funeral on Friday but My husband 's Uncle's Funeral in Watkins Glen is at ten in the morning on Friday. I live in Wilkes Barre I could have seen Michael many times. My Condolences to all the Swantek Family . I would have liked to have seen and talked to all of the Swantek's about all the Swantek Family History . Take Care And God Bless.
