Anthony Fumanti, 91, of Exeter, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 19, 2017 at his home with his family by his side.

Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late Frank and Florence Ercolani Fumanti.  

Tony was a graduate of Plains High School and enlisted in the U. S. Army and served his country during World War II as a staff sergeant.  He was a  business man, charter member and past president of Emanon Country Club, past president of Exeter Lions Club, a member of the VFW, the  American Legion, and the Disabled American Veterans.

He enjoyed family gatherings, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and dancing with his wife at the Party of the Month and Big Band dinner dances.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, West Pittston.

Preceding him  in death was his brother Joseph Fumanti.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, the former Blanche Peloso and children:Frank and his wife Patricia, Pittston, Carol and her husband Frank Arcuri, Croton, N.Y. and John and his wife Gloria, West Wyoming; grandchildren: Eric and his wife Joy ,Gregg, Nick, Dan and Dana;Great granddaughters, Alexandra and Ariana, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his brother Daniel and sister Lena, Plains.

Funeral services will be on Monday at 10:30 am from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter with the Rev. James Wert of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment with Military Honors accorded by the AmVets Honor Guard will be in Memorial Shrine Burial Park, 8th St. Wyoming.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 2-4pm at the funeral home.
