James A. Mazaika, 65, of Exeter, passed away suddenly, at his home, Thursday morning, December 31, 2015.

Born May 4, 1950, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Anthony and Margaret Zagavauskas Mazaika.

James was a graduate of GAR High School, Class of 1968.  Following high school he began his career as a welder at Altec Industries, Plains until they downsized.  James worked at various local metal shops prior to his retirement.  

Surviving are his wife of 21 years, the former Joan Artim, and children, Jennifer (Johnathan) Guchanyk, Swoyersville, and Jessica (John) Tigue, Pittston and one granddaughter, Ella Tigue.  Also surviving are father in law, Joseph Artim;  brother in laws and sister in laws and close friend Tony Clapps.  

Funeral services were private with interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave. Exeter.

I grew up in neighborhood with Jim on South Grant Street. We were childhood friends and classmates. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.
My prayers are with Jim and his family.

So sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. I was his cousin on his mother's side. I remember him as a little boy. Glad to know that his years with you were happy. He deserved a good life.
