Philomena (Phyllis) Stochmal, 61, formerly of West Pittston, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday May 7, 2015 at the Community Medical Center, Geisinger Hospital, Scranton.

Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Rose Pompino Stochmal.

Phyllis enjoyed life and gave everyone she met unconditional love.  She was well known in West Pittston.  There wasn’t a day that went by that her parents or sister didn’t take her for her walks.

She will be dearly missed by her family and sister Agnes and her husband Jim Izolt, Scranton, along with numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be on Monday at 9:00am from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30am at St. Barbara Parish in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 28 Memorial St., Exeter. The Rev. Michael Finn, will be celebrant.

Interment will be in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 5pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.
