Robert R. Anderson, 87, of West Pittston passed away on Wednesday April 1, 2015.

Born in Libertyville, Illinois, he was the son of the late Harry Anderson and Gretta Sutton Anderson.

He was a graduate of Libertyville High School. He was also a member of the United States Army serving in Germany during the Korean War.

He was employed by Penn Fuel Gas in Oxford where he was the Vice President of Operations for many years. He was the past presidents of the Greater Pittston YMCA and The Pittston Kiwanis. He was also an active member of the First United Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Loretta DeAngelo, daughters, Marta and her husband Earl Jones, West Pittston, Stephanie and her husband Douglas Morrison, Mendham, NJ, son Eric and his wife Pamela Anderson, Alpharetta, GA; brothers Edwin and his wife Patricia, West Grove, PA, David and his wife Kelly, Sarasota, FL, Kent and his wife Pamela, Downington, PA, sister-in-law Jean Anderson, along with seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son Robert Roy Anderson, grandson Robert Francis Jones and brother Harry Anderson.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 11 a.m. Monday, April 6, followed by a Memorial Service conducted by Rev. James Thyren at 1 p.m. at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church of West Pittston or to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, wecare@hospicesacredheart.org.
