Mary M. Dirhan, 99, of Duryea, formerly of West Pittston, passed away on Sunday afternoon January 25, 2015, at the Celtic Inpatient Care Unit of Geisinger South Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in West Pittston, she was the daughter of the late John and Ann Zboray.

Mrs. Dirhan attended Exeter schools and was a member of St. Barbara Parish at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter.

Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a baker at school districts in Wilmington, Delaware.
She belonged to the Cosmopolitan Senior Club, Exeter.
  
She was preceded in death by her husband Kalman Dirhan on Oct. 9, 1997 and a brother William Zboray and sisters Irene Husosky, Anna and Helen Zboray and Margaret Buttaci.


Mary had a deep love for her family, church and friends.  She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone.  She was looking forward to celebrating her 100th birthday with her family and friends in August.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her son Coleman Dirhan, Duryea, with whom she resided ,  daughter in law, Diane Dirhan, West Pittston and a daughter Carol Engelhardt, and her husband Eugene, Boca Raton, Fla. , a brother John ( Jack) Zboray, Nanticoke.

Grandchildren, Mark Engelhardt and his wife Elisa, Dorian Holowicki and her husband Kevin, and Dara Blomain and her husband Erik and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:00am from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am at St. Anthony of Padua Church,( St. Barbara Parish) 28 Memorial St., Exeter. The Rev. Michael Finn, pastor will be the celebrant.
Entombment will be in Denison Mausoleum, Swoyersville.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 5 until 8pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to: Saint Barbara's parish, Exeter or the charity of your choice.

I am very sorry for the loss of your loved one. I only knew her from Germania bingo, but she was a special person that will be deeply missed. My thoughts & prayers go out to her family.
