James S. Brodosky Sr., 77 of Hughestown, passed away Saturday at home.

Born on July 10, 1937 in Patton, Pa.  He was the son of the late Steve and Stephania (Stella) Psioda Brodosky.

He attended Patton High School.  Jim was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served his country during the Korean War.

Prior to his retirement in 1999, he was employed for 27 years at Schott Glass Technologies, Duryea as a group leader. He was a member of the Duryea Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1227.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank and his infant sister, Josephine.

Surviving is his wife of 56 years the former Florence Roxby. Brother; Raymond Marhefka, Ohio and his sister Patricia Redd and husband Jack, Maryland. Sons, James Jr., Duryea; Ronald and his wife Deb, North Carolina; and Michael, Duryea. Daughters, Elaine and her husband James Benfante, Minnesota; Pattijean, Pittston and her husband James Burns, Mount Pocono; and Debra and her husband Elmer Weitz, Moscow. Grandchildren, Samuel, Joseph, James and A.J. Benfante, Amanda and her husband Frank Rudis, Michelle Morrow, Tiffany Wingard, Christopher and Nathan Brodosky, Michael, Jennifer, Jason and Sara Mandicott, Brandon Burns, Stephanie Brodosky and Joshua Weitz. Also surviving are twelve great-grandchildren, two nieces and a nephew.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Tuesday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Gubbiotti Funeral home 1030 Wyoming Ave, Exeter.

Private Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the funeral home with military honors accorded by AMVETS Honor Guard Post 189 Greater Pittston.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, American Heart Association / American Stroke Association PO Box 15120 Chicago, IL 60693.
