Roy R. Bertocci of West Wyoming passed away peacefully at Overlook Medical Center, Summit, N.J., with his loving family by his side on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the age of 73.

He was born December 19, 1940 in Kingston at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital.  He was the son of the late Ugo and Marie Fabbri Bertocci.  He was a graduate of West Wyoming High School, Class of 1958, and was employed by Franconi Auto Parts, Stull Brothers, and retired as a bus driver from the Luzerne County Transportation Authority.

Roy was a member of the Parish of St. Monica in West Wyoming.

He loved and respected the rural outdoors, especially hunting and relaxing at the cabin .  He enjoyed all sports, watching his grandson play high school and college baseball, his granddaughter's recitals, and was a devoted Penn State football fan.

Surviving are his sister, Velma DiRoberto, Doylestown; former wife Beverly, Wyoming; son Mark Bertocci, Metuchen, N.J.; daughter Jill and her husband Sean Haggerty, Scotch Plains, N.J.; grandchildren Ryan Haggerty and Katelyn Haggerty; nephews Michael DiRoberto, Woodstock, Ga. and David DiRoberto, Doylestown.  He was predeceased in death by nephew James DiRoberto.

The funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday from the  Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Avenue, Exeter with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at the Parish of St. Monica, 363 West Eighth Street, West Wyoming.  The Reverend Father Leo McKernan, pastor,will be celebrant.

Interment will follow in Memorial Shrine Burial Park, Carverton.

Relatives  and friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral.

The family is eternally grateful to the kind and compassionate care of nurse Rich at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, ManorCare, Kingston, and Overlook Medical Center, Summit, N.J.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 57 North Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA  18701.
