Dominick Joseph Trasciatti, 80, of Wyoming, formerly of Lindenhurst, NY, died on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at the Dept. of Veteran Affairs Medical Center.
Born in Hilldale, he was the son of the late Oddone and Brigida Campagnucci Trasciatti.
Dominick was a member of St. Monica's Parish at our Lady of Sorrows Church, West Wyoming, and a former member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Lindenhurst, and Sacred Heart Church, Plains.
He was a graduate of Plains High School, class of 1951. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army as a medic during the Korean conflict.
A talented mechanic, he enjoyed a long career with Pan American World Airways and later retired from Delta Airlines. He also worked at the Penn State Belt and Buckle and was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 57 years, Ruth Ellen Gilboy Trasciatti, brothers Herman, Leonard, Edward, Gino, Enrico, and sisters Ann Testa and Helen Doxbeck.

Surviving are a son, Lawrence Trasciatti, of Wyoming; daughter, Mary Anne Trasciatti, and her husband, Steven Caslowitz, of Long Beach, NY; grandchildren Michael, Sam and Bridget Caslowitz; sister Norma Caparco, of Massapequa, NY; sisters-in-law Mary Trasciatti, of Hilldale,, Helen Trasciatti, of Plains, Lauren Antosh and her husband, James, of Harding; brother-in-law Frank Musto, of Wyoming; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, at Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.  
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, at St. Monica's Parish at our Lady of Sorrows Church, 8th Street, West Wyoming, with the Rev. Leo McKernan, as celebrant.

Interment will be at the Italian Independent Cemetery, West Wyoming.

My father Alfred Vicarelli worked with Dominick at Pan American and was sorry to learn about his passing. To Dominicks family, I am so sorry for your loss. I worked many many years in the auto shop with Dominick. He was a very nice person. He never had a bad word for anyone. All I can say is he will be remembered by me for a long time. Ed Forseth
