Ann Lucille M. Swanson, 87, formerly of West Pittston, passed away on Friday February 15, 2013 in Seattle, WA, with her daughter Victoria by her side.

Born in Sebastopol, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen Rubin Shacochius.

Ann was a graduate of West Pittston High School, and worked as a secretary in New York City and Washington DC, while raising her three children.  After her retirement, Ann returned to West Pittston, where she remained active by volunteering at public radio station WVIA, and as a driver for Meals on Wheels.  

She is preceded in death by her husband Erling Swanson and sisters, Cecilia Evans-Stearns, Helen Yanish, and Aldona Dymond. A younger sibling, Joseph, passed away early in his childhood.


Surviving are her children: Victoria Swanson, Seattle, Wa, with whom she lived, Deborah Swanson, Arlington, Va., and Jeffrey, Stamford, Conn.; 3 grandchildren: Justin, Camila and Mateo; a sister Eleanor Reap, Newton, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 23, 2013at 9:30a.m.  from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00am in  The Trinity Espiscol Church, West Pittston with the Rev. John Major, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Pittston.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday February 22,2013 from 4:00pm until 7:00p.m. at the funeral home.
