Maria T. Thubbron, 62, of Nanticoke, passed away on Sunday October 7, 2012 at the Celtic Healthcare Inpatient Unit of Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre Hospital.

Born in Camden, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Esther Troutman Matteo.

Maria was a member of the First Primitive Methodist Church, Nanticoke and was a graduate of Danville High School. She belonged to the fraternal order of Eagles Post 834 of Nanticoke.

She worked for the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital for 38 years and in the physical therapy department for the past 19 of those years and most recently had worked as an aide in the MRI department  there.

Surviving are her husband of 21 years, William L.(Pappy) Thubbron, Sr., and daughter Marti and her husband Jerry Nastanski, Edwardsville, a son, George and his wife Katie Brogan, Clearwater, Fla.

Stepchildren: Lisa and her husband Ken Shotwell, Duryea, Lori Thubbron, Dallas, William Thubbron, Jr. and his fiancée Brianne, Pittston, and John Thubbron, Wapwallopen.

Sisters and brothers in law, Louise and John Stasik, Duryea, Jack and Rosemary Thubbron, Pittston Twp., Jane Osborne, Elwood City, Pa.

Grandchildren: 17 and great grandchildren: 4

Also Numerous nieces and nephews

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday October 11, 2012 from 6:00-8:00pm at the First Primitive Methodist Church, Corner of Church and Prospect Sts., Nanticoke. Pastor Kyke Gilder, will officiate at the services at 8:00pm.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.

Bill and Family, you are in our thoughts and prayers. Maria was friend from GWV Therapy dept. she always thought of ways to lift your spirits and had a smile no matter what! God Bless all of you!
