Mack Harris, 89, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Friday May 15, 2020 at the Highland Park Senior Living, Wilkes-Barre.

Born and raised in Gate City, Va., he was the son of the late M. Lee and Hannah Turner Harris.

He attended Prospect Public School in Gate City, Va., and afterwards  joined the U.S. Army  serving as a Corporal in the 9th Infantry Division of the Special Training Regiment. and when that was completed he  joined the U.S.Army reserves.

He joined the Star Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ossining, N.Y. in 1994. Shortly after he was appointed as a trustee in the Church by the Dr. Rev. A.L. Lewter. He was part of the Mens Ministry and he attended Sunday school, Bible Study and Church services.

Mack's career was a professional window cleaner and he ended his career as a window cleaner. He retired in 2010 and he continued to work as a self contractor cleaning windows.  Mack took great pride as a professional window cleaner and his clients spoke very highly of him and his work.  He took it as an opportunity to meet new people. He was funny and had a great sense of humor. He was loved by everyone.

Mack later fell ill in 2016 and he couldn't attend church as he wanted . He was under Pastor Shaun Ellison Jones. As Mack 's illness worsened he couldn't care for himself, so he relocated to Wilkes-Barre, Pa. at Highland Park Senior Living facility to be near his son Rex Harris, where he was well taken care of.

He attended church every Sunday with Rex and his family at Parker Hill Church with  Pastor Errol Morgan, Wilkes-Barre.  Mack never moved his membership because he always said Star Bethlehem was home to him.

Mack leaves to mourn, a devoted friend of 42 years, Geneva Hunter, Ossining, N.Y,, son, Rex Harris ( Alissa) Wyoming, Pa.,Dexter Harris, Ossining, NY, Octavia Matthews, Peekskill, NY, Ivan Iton. Ossining, NY, who Mack loved as one of his own; Patricia Winton, TN, Jackie Harris , White, Plains, NY, Mack Harris, Jr., Yonkers, NY, Steven (George) Harris, White Plains, NY, Margaret (Ann) Harris, TN, Arthur Harris, TN, Mark Harris,TN, a sister Faustina ( Chris )Harris, Va., Brother, Marcellus Harris (Vivian ) Long Island, NY, niece Mary Harris, Va., Easton Harris, Rocklyn Harris, Alivia Lambert( Grandaughters) and a host of other grands, great grands, and great great grands, nieces, nephews,cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Regina Harris and a brother George Harris.
