Michael Robert Zaboski Sr., 92,of West Wyoming passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital amidst his loving family.
  
Michael was born April 11, 1926, the son of the late Michael and Mary (Gutkowski) Zaboski of Wilkes-Barre Township. He graduated from St. Mary’s Evening High School. He served in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II, specializing in radio operation. He was stationed on Japtan Island in the Eniwetok Atoll through the end of the war. He later completed an electrical repairman program at the  Kingston Vocational School.
  
From 1959 until his retirement in 1987, he served as a Supply Technician at Tobyhanna Army Depot, earning recognition throughout his career for his work performance and dedication. Prior to working at Tobyhanna, he owned a bar and restaurant in his family homestead on Blackman Street in Wilkes-Barre Township, where he met his beloved wife of 49 years, the late Josephine (Paoloni) Zaboski who passed in 2009.
  
For many years, Michael was an active lector and volunteer at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Exeter, now The Parish Community of Saint Barbara. A lover of encyclopedias and dictionaries, he never stopped learning throughout his life. He was an inventor and tinkerer at heart who could fix almost anything. One his greatest joys was playing the piano for family and friends.

Above all else, he was devoted to his family. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Josephine.

Surviving are daughter Jacqueline Walsh and husband, Jerome, Wyoming; son Dr. Michael Jr. and wife, Nicole, Elizabeth, N,J.; son Brian and wife, Anita, Sugar Notch; daughter Michele Biduck, and husband, Michael, Inkerman; daughter, Lynn Dolan and husband, Michael, West Wyoming; and son, Gerald, and wife, Maureen, West Wyoming. Also surviving are 14 beloved grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sisters, Marie Hatcher and Loretta Schaal; brother Bernard and his wife, Elsie; sister-in-law Margaret Paoloni; his wife’s aunt Violet Paoloni; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward, Dallas, sister Florence Diekhoff, Miller, South Dakota, and brothers and sisters in laws.
  
He will be dearly missed and always remembered by family, neighbors and friends.
  
Relatives and friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home,LLC,  1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Barbara Parish in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 224 Memorial Street, Exeter. Interment will be done privately at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hanover Township, Pa.
  In lieu of flowers  donations may be sent to the Performance Music at the University of Scranton, Scranton, Pa.
