John J. Juris, 89, of Dallas, passed away on Sunday October 5, 2014 at his home with his loving wife, Florence by his side.
He was the son of the late John A.and Anna Macho Juris.
John was a member of the Prince of Peace Episcopal Church, Dallas and was a graduate of Coughlin High School.
Prior to his retirement, he had worked for the U. S. Postal Service as a rural postal carrier for 34 years and had worked on the inside for 4 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran having served his country during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post # 672, Dallas.
He had also served as a Scout master for many years and had belonged to the Wyoming Valley Ski Club, Wilkes-Barre.
As a parishioner of the Prince of Peace Church, he was active on the Vestry and other parish functions.
He was preceded in death by his four sisters.
Surviving are his children; James, Denver, Co.; Jerome (Mary) Walnutport, Pa. And JoAnn and her husband Albert Karolchik, Hampshire, TN.
Grandchildren: Brian ( Selene) Karolchik, Harveys Lake; Jesse and Joshua Juris, Walnutport. Also several nieces and nephews and a brother Carl ( Nancy ) Juris, Harrisburg.
Memorial funeral services will be held at the Prince of Peace Church, Dallas on Saturday at 11am
