Marie Trottini Montante Obituary
Marie Trottini Montante passed away on Saturday evening, May 24th, 2014, surrounded throughout the day by her family and friends who loved her very much.
Marie was born on July 5th, 1933 to the late Lorenzo and Stella Menta Trottini.
She attended Wyoming High School and then worked for the Household Finance Company.
Marie had been married to Dr. Charles J. Montante and is also survived by her sons, Joseph and his wife Annette, Abington, Pa. and Larry and his fiancee, Ann, Swoyersville, along with three granddaughters Julia, Livia and Genevieve. a brother, Robert and his wife Vivian Trottini, Exeter.
She was preceded in death by her sister Irene Zarnoch, and a brother Lawrence Trottini.
After years of dedicated volunteer work with The Arthritis Foundation, she attended both Wilkes and Kings Colleges, ultimately receiving a degree in Theology from Kings College. After earning her degree, she became an Amway representative and then felt the desire to become a Real Estate Professional. Upon getting her license, she honed her skills at Joseph P. Gilroy Real Estate and then with Lewith and Freeman Real Estate, Inc., where she became and remained a top agent throughout her career, receiving the 2013 Excellence Award in recognition for 20 years of outstanding service, dedication and being a continual Top Producer.
Marie was also active in her spirituality and was a founding member of The Beginning Experience and was committed to assisting those who suffered the loss of a marital spouse or partner, or anyone in the need of counseling. A proud accomplishment was completing her life work of becoming a Certified Spiritual Director and guiding retreatants through the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola.
She enjoyed family, friends and the outdoors, especially when near an ocean. Her spirit is in a better place now and she will be missed by all her family and friends.
A Memorial Church Service will be held at St. Nicholas Church, 226 South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701, Monday, June 2nd, 2014 at 11:00am.
