Guy K. Smith, 76, died peacefully on December 27, 2017, in Syracuse NY.
Guy received his B.S. from Cornell University and his Ph.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University Medical College of Virginia. He found working as a medical physicist to be rewarding work and worked in that field until he retired.
Guy is survived by his wife of 45 years, Genevieve White Smith; his sisters Lois Smith and Gail Rivera; his nephews Gordon Wilson (Kim), Patrick Wilson, Stefan White (Stacey), and Joshua White; his nieces Emily White (fiancé Frank Farnach) and Melissa Spina; his four dear great nieces and extended family. Guy was the only son of Edward C. and Winona K. Smith of Buffalo, NY.
Guy loved football and was a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan. He followed collegiate and high school games with relish. Panther and Black Tornado home games were a must for him to attend.
Formerly of Medford, OR, Guy found joy participating fully in the life of the First Presbyterian Church there. With his love of music, he especially appreciated the organ.
A memorial celebration of Guy’s life will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Gang Memorial Funeral Chapel, Syracuse, NY.
Donations in Guy’s memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 8 S. Holly Street, Medford, OR 97504 or the church’s food pantry.

My and my fellow fraternity (APD) brothers deepest sympathies and regrets over the loss of your husband. Guy was one of the nicest, if not the nicest, human beings to ever walk and grace this planet.

Dear Genevieve
Bob Elert and I went to Lunch today, and he gave me the clipping from the local paper which he knows I would never have otherwise read.
I will keep you both in my prayers, and will always hold dear those memories of see you arriving at Bruno's Pizza, knowing that I would have to produce not just good Pizza, but also a good story or two.
Wishing you peace and fullfillment and thanks for all of the Laughter of the past; may you find your way to laughter once again.
