William Joseph Hess, age 85, of Syracuse, NY, passed away on Saturday morning, July 1, 2017. Bill was born on December 9, 1931, son of the late William A. Hess and Laura (Gwynn) Hess.
Bill served his Country in the Navy for four years and trained as an electrician. He worked for New York Telephone for 36 years and went on to start his own company, Ex-Com, providing electrical and communication services for residents and business. He was a member of the NY Telephone Pioneers and Duck"s Unlimited. He was predeceased by his sister Elena Ballard. He enjoyed spending time in the Adirondack Mountains. He loved to hunt, fish, read and spend time with his family. He had a quick wit and ready smile for everyone.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Rosemarie (Ospelt) Hess; along with four children; Kathleen and Larry Czajkowski of Syracuse, New York, Cynthia and Charles Campanella of Moravia, New York, William Hess and Wendy Bodnar of Sackets Harbor, New York, and Paul and Sheila Hess of East Bethany, New York; and 8 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 12:10pm at St. Daniels 3008 Court St, Syracuse. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Daniels, Father Lyons Hall.
